Recognising Daniel Kerr from Bearsden and Next Take for Empowering Young Filmmakers in Scotland

That the Parliament congratulates Bearsden actor, Daniel Kerr, and the youth-led film-making organisation, Next Take, on the release of their new short film, Piece of Mind; understands that Daniel, who co-founded Next Take and won a BAFTA aged 12, is helping to build a platform for young creatives from Bearsden and beyond to gain practical experience in all aspects of film production; notes that Piece of Mind was developed through a Scotland-wide educational film initiative and was praised for boosting the confidence and skills of participants from a range of backgrounds; welcomes that the project highlights powerful themes of family relationships, trauma and grief, while showcasing the talent of emerging writers, directors and performers; commends Next Take for ensuring that Bearsden features prominently in Scotland’s growing screen sector by nurturing local young people’s ambitions in the creative industries, and wishes Daniel Kerr, Next Take, and all those involved in Piece of Mind every success with future projects.
