That the Parliament welcomes the news that a number of Clackmannanshire dance schools and an individual teacher have been recognised as Scottish Dance Awards (SDA) finalists; understands that the awards celebrate the best of Scottish dance, assessing excellence in teaching, innovation in dance education and a company's dedication to community engagement; further understands that following an application process, the schools are judged by a panel of experts from the dance community, where they must prove "demonstrated excellence in the categories"; notes that the finalists are Alloa Ballet Company for Outstanding Small Dance School and Health and Wellbeing in Dance, Fusion Dance Academy for Outstanding Small Dance School, MK Dance Company for Rising Star School and Alba Performing Arts School for Rising Star School, Outstanding Pre-school Dance Education and Excellence in Dance Teacher Training; further notes that an individual teacher, Sarah Stenhouse Kerr, from Clackmannanshire, has also been shortlisted for Teacher of the Year and the Creative Choreography Award; acknowledges that the Scottish Dance Awards, which it believes shine a spotlight on those making a significant impact in the world of dance, will take place at Radisson Blu Glasgow on 3 May 2026; congratulates all the finalists, and wishes everyone taking part all the very best of luck.
