That the Parliament congratulates the Honourable Lady Rita Rae KC on her appointment as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2026 for services to the law, to charity and to education in Scotland; notes her long and distinguished career within Scotland’s judiciary and her contribution to legal education; believes that this honour reflects her commitment to public service and justice; recognises what it sees as the positive impact of her work on Scotland’s legal system and wider civic life, and acknowledges her dedication to upholding the rule of law and supporting charitable and educational causes.
