That the Parliament congratulates Ben Pentreath, Dr Andrew Trevett, Patricia Smith and Glynis MacLeod, all from Orkney, on being recognised in The King's New Year Honours List; acknowledges that these four individuals are joined by three more Orcadians who have been awarded British Empire Medals (BEM) for services to music; understands that Ben Pentreath, an architectural and interior designer based in Rousay, who has undertaken work for the Duchy of Cornwall and the Princess of Wales, is receiving an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to design; notes that Dr Trevett, who is medical director at the Orkney Hyperbaric Unit, which is one of only two such chambers operating in Scotland and which provides rapid recompression therapy for diving-related illness known as 'the bends', is receiving a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to medicine, diving, and the community of Orkney; understands that Patty Smith is receiving an MBE in recognition of her services to the community of Orkney, in light of her 40 years of fundraising efforts on behalf of the life-saving charity, RNLI; recognises that Glynis MacLeod, who served as medical secretary at Heilendi Practice in Kirkwall for 49 years, is receiving a BEM in recognition of her incredible contribution to NHS Orkney and the local community; believes that these honours are well deserved and a wonderful tribute to the outstanding contributions made by all four in a variety of areas; thanks them for their efforts, for helping ensure that Orkney is extremely well represented in the New Year Honours List, and wishes all four the very best for the future.
