Martin John Rogers, Member of the Order of the British Empire

That the Parliament congratulates Martin Rogers, Cub Scout Leader and Trustee for the District Scout Council, on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to young people, to Scouting and to the community in Rosyth; notes that Martin is also a Rosyth historian, and that, over a number of years, he has taken photos and films recording evolutionary changes in Rosyth; understands that he has also undertaken research on the history of the town and dockyard, sharing these in various ways such as publishing books of photos and focus guides, in addition to giving talks and creating displays under the auspices of the Rosyth Garden City Association; acknowledges that Martin was first involved in Scouting back in 1954 when he joined the 13th Fife Wolf Cubs at the age of eight, becoming an assistant cub master on his 18th birthday and that he has served the same group ever since, teaching hundreds of boys and girls between the ages of eight and 11, and who has been described by colleagues as "an incredibly knowledgeable man with a real passion for his locality", and commends Martin on his sterling endeavours for the Scouting organisation and for his entire community.
