That the Parliament congratulates LIFT D&G (Lochside Is Families Together) on winning the Creative Regeneration Award at the 2025 SURF Awards; recognises that the project operates in Lochside, Dumfries in the South Scotland region, which is recorded as an area of deprivation in the SIMD index; acknowledges that LIFT D&G has been delivering creative opportunities that allow people to fulfil their potential; notes that LIFT D&G began eight years ago following community involvement in the Big Burns Supper carnival, and has since grown into a grassroots organisation employing over 10 people, supporting countless families and working holistically across food justice, health and wellbeing, employability, youth development and placemaking; commends its flagship creative placemaking projects, including the Nature and Nurture Area (NANA) at Glentrool Park, Art Lab, and the DnD Creative Gaming Network, which have improved diets, reduced isolation, and increased confidence and skills among participants; acknowledges the strong partnerships with The Stove Network, Dumfries and Galloway Council and Wheatley Homes South, and the adoption of the Art Cabin within the local planning strategy as a prototype HQ; notes that LIFT D&G is now central to a 25-year regeneration initiative for Lochside, and believes that its authentic, community-led approach is a model of creative regeneration that is transforming lives and spaces in Dumfries.
