That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the Red Bow Ball, which was held at the Cairndale Hotel and Spa in Dumfries, in the South Scotland region, on the outstanding success of their fundraising event; understands that 12 young people die from undiagnosed heart conditions each week in the UK and that by funding life-saving heart screenings, awareness campaigns and vital family support, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) is making an incredible difference; notes that the ball was attended by 175 people and raised a total of £19,000 through ticket sales, a raffle and an auction; acknowledges the generosity of the main sponsors, which are GTR Contracts, Heineken, Inverarity Morton, Light Up Your Venue, SW Audio, Coppertree Photography, DG Life and Church Court Dental; recognises the contributions of those who donated auction and raffle prizes, including Bollinger, DG Life, ITV, The Globe Inn, Selkirk Arms Hotel, artists Chris Davis and Donna Johnstone, Arnold Clark with a signed Scotland Rugby Ball, and Queen of the South Football Club; commends the entertainment provided by piper Callum Watson, the Dangleberries and New Identity; welcomes that all funds raised will go to CRY's David Hill Memorial Fund to support cardiac screening in Dumfries and Galloway, securing provision into 2027 and beyond, and pays tribute to the Cairndale Hotel and Spa team, with special mention to the Wallace Family and Alex Fleming, for their dedication in organising this event, which will have a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of young people in the region.
