Glasgow Boy Honoured for Courage and Community Spirit

That the Parliament congratulates the Glasgow boy, Ismaeel Ishaque, who is aged eight, on receiving a Star award from Cancer Research UK, and being recognised as one of the Little Champions at the Glasgow Community Champion Awards; notes that Ismaeel was diagnosed with leukaemia earlier in 2025; understands that he courageously shared his story to help other families affected by cancer, and that his parents and siblings have supported him throughout his treatment, while also raising over £2,000 for charity; acknowledges the exceptional bravery, resilience and compassion shown by Ismaeel in using his experience to inspire and support others; recognises the role of the Glasgow Community Champion Awards in celebrating outstanding contributions by individuals and young people within the city, and further recognises that Ismaeel’s determination and generosity have provided an inspiring example of courage, community spirit and hope for children, families and communities across Glasgow and Scotland.
