That the Parliament congratulates Elaine Gray, who is from Orkney, on winning Badminton Scotland's 2025 President's Award; understands that this recognition is awarded to an individual or team who has gone above and beyond to help develop badminton in the nation; recognises that Elaine served as the badminton co-ordinator for the Orkney 2025 International Island Games this July, which brought together athletes and supporters from 24 island groups around the world to compete in 12 sports; believes that Elaine and her team of officials and volunteers facilitated an unforgettable experience for the badminton players and spectators alike during these Games; notes indeed that, at one stage, the atmosphere in the badminton arena was so boisterous that an appeal had to be made to keep the noise down so that players could hear the umpires; thanks Elaine for her long-standing commitment to developing and promoting this sport in Orkney and across Scotland, and wishes her all the best for the future, both on and off the badminton court.
