That the Parliament congratulates the St Giles Theatre Group, based in Elgin, Moray, on being awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is the highest award that a voluntary group can receive in the UK; notes that since it was founded in 1988, the youth theatre group has staged 37 musicals, including Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story and Chicago; commends the work and dedication of the 25 to 30 core volunteers who give up their time each week to ensure that the young people in the group are safe, secure and challenged to reach their full potential, with the number of volunteers rising to about 70 during show week, helping with front of house duties, hair and makeup, stage crew or playing in the live orchestra; agrees with Al Monkman, Lord Lieutenant of Moray, that Elgin's St Giles Theatre Group has changed lives and enriched the local communities, and wishes everyone involved with the group continued success with future productions.
