That the Parliament welcomes the news that hundreds of shoeboxes packed with gifts are being delivered to families overseas; understands that residents in Clackmannanshire donated 250 shoeboxes through the Rotary Club of Alloa’s annual festive appeal; believes that the boxes, which were filled with toys, toiletries and household essentials, are now on their way to countries across Eastern Europe, including Ukraine, where many families continue to face hardship; notes that a van, kindly donated by Woods Coaches in Tillicoultry, delivered the boxes to the distribution centre in Perth for onward transportation to Eastern European countries; further notes that the Rotary Club believes that this donation could be the largest single-club contribution in the Rotary district during 2025; understands that the effort was supported by individuals, schools and businesses across the county, and commends everyone involved on their highly benevolent work.
