That the Parliament congratulates Strathdevon Primary School in Dollar on marking its 60th anniversary; understands that for the anniversary commemorative event, the children dressed up in 1960s-themed clothes, rounding off a block of learning which saw them explore the institution’s past; commends the school for focusing on cultural aspects such as what the school and its area were like back then compared to now, as well as creating an interest in how the building has changed and how the school uniforms are still the same; notes that the event had displays of learning material, showcases and performances as well as a birthday cake outside; considers that after six decades at the heart of a small community, many families have now had three generations pass through the school’s gates; is enthused that the children are said by the head teacher to feel really proud of their school, as is the case with everyone who has attended, and congratulates everyone involved, past and present, on their sterling work within the community.
