That the Parliament welcomes the new running facility at Posties Park in Dumbarton being renamed in honour of Lachie Stewart, who passed away in May 2025 aged 81; notes that Alexandria-born Lachie became a national hero when he won Scotland a gold medal in the 10k metres race at the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh; understands that Lachie then went on to represent Great Britain at the Olympics in Munich in 1972; acknowledges Lachie's passion and dedication, not only to athletics, but also to his local community, and believes that this legacy will help fulfil his wish to inspire many more generations of athletes.
