That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Street Aid on being named Champion Team in the North East heat of the 2025 Glasgow Community Champion Awards; acknowledges that Glasgow Street Aid is a charity operating in Glasgow city-centre as a pre-hospital medical and welfare street team supporting vulnerable people on the streets; notes that it provides vital on-scene care, including first-aid, wound-care, overdose intervention, welfare support and hospital transfer, for those in crisis and that it works to reduce pressures on ambulance services and A&E departments; recognises that the charity is run entirely by volunteers drawn from healthcare backgrounds, including paramedics, registered nurses, ambulance technicians, first-responders, and from the wider community, who give their time during high-demand weekend hours to care for those in need; understands that it relies on public donations and grants to function and that it has already treated several thousand patients, demonstrating the significant impact of its work; acknowledges the volunteer team’s resilience in the face of operational challenges and difficult circumstances, and wishes it well in its commitment to continue to expand its services and community reach.
