That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the annual Strùan Tea in Iochdar, South Uist, on the success of their latest event which has raised more than £16,000 for Parkinson’s UK in Scotland; recognises the generosity of the people of Uist, who have donated more than £95,000 to the charity over the last eight years; believes that this is a particularly impressive feat in light of the islands' population of about 4,500 people; celebrates the commitment of the volunteers who bring the Uist community together to support Parkinson’s UK in Scotland; pays tribute to Flora Macleod, who lived with Parkinson’s for many years, and in whose memory her family established the Strùan Tea in 2018; recognises that about 60 people in the Western Isles and about 14,000 people across Scotland live with the condition; notes that Parkinson’s UK aims to support everyone affected by Parkinson’s and is the largest funder of Parkinson’s research in Europe, and wishes the organisers well for next year’s Strùan tea.
