Clyde Coast and Cumbraes Men’s Shed Named Scottish Men’s Shed of the Year 2025

That the Parliament congratulates Clyde Coast and Cumbraes Men’s Shed on being named Scottish Men’s Shed of the Year 2025 at the Scottish Men’s Sheds Association’s national gathering, AGM and awards ceremony held at Perth & Kinross Council chambers and Civic Hall on 3 October 2025; acknowledges that the Largs-based Shed received the highest number of votes nationally, ahead of St Andrews Men’s Shed and Dalkeith Men’s Shed, and was presented with the Scottish Men’s Shed of the Year trophy along with prizes to support its development; considers that Clyde Coast and Cumbraes Men’s Shed, under the chairmanship of Ian Murdoch, has demonstrated exceptional commitment to fostering community, health and wellbeing through volunteer-led initiatives, outreach programmes and collaborative events; believes that the Shed’s welcoming atmosphere and impact in reducing isolation exemplify the values of the Men’s Shed movement, and commends all Scottish Men’s Sheds for their contribution to improving men’s health and wellbeing across the country.
