  • Submitted by: Alex Cole-Hamilton, Edinburgh Western, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 05 September 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18740

That the Parliament congratulates Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) on the 30th anniversary of its advice line service; recognises the vital role that the advice line has played since its launch in providing trusted, compassionate and expert support to the one in five people who live with a chest, heart or stroke condition, or long COVID, across Scotland; understands that the advice line is free to access, open from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, and that a person can get in touch by telephone, email or text, or be referred by a medical professional to gain additional support; acknowledges the dedication of the nurses, staff and volunteers who have supported thousands of callers over the last four decades, helping them to manage their health, navigate services, and live life to the full; celebrates the impact of this free and accessible service in empowering individuals and families to manage their health, and acknowledges what it sees as the rising burden of disease in Scotland and the essential role that the advice line service continues to play as CHSS aims to reach an additional 175,000 people by 2028.
