That the Parliament understands that Clackmannanshire primary schools were recently gifted an important book, Mr Wheeze-a-Lot, which was written by authors from the county, to raise awareness of asthma and the importance of inhalers; notes that one of the book's authors, Elaine Cunningham, was inspired to write the book after losing her daughter, Lauren, in 2019 to an asthma attack while working in a commercial kitchen in Glasgow city centre when, tragically, she had forgotten her inhaler; notes that Elaine was joined by Dr Yvonne Bennett to co-write the book, which, it believes, has a strong message and includes invaluable practical information on how to use inhalers correctly; acknowledges that Linda McLeod BEM, the chair of Breathe Easy Clackmannanshire, bought 20 copies of the book and distributed them to primary schools, including her old primary, Sunnyside, in Alloa; further acknowledges that Linda was joined by two fellow trustees, Aileen Littlejohn and Lynsey Morrison, alongside a representative from the local authority education department, Julie McKenna, who went to Sunnyside to highlight the important message and introduce the children to the book; notes that Breathe Easy Clackmannanshire is a charity support group to Asthma + Lung UK, whose members have respiratory issues and meet once a month in St Mungo's Church hall; understands that all proceeds from the book sales will go to the asthma campaign, Lauren's Law, which is a movement founded by Elaine that aims to ensure that inhalers are included in first aid boxes as a legal requirement; commends Linda, Aileen and Lynsey of Breathe Easy on this extremely magnanimous gesture, and further commends Elaine and everyone involved in the writing, distribution and fundraising of this excellent book.
