That the Parliament praises the efforts of firefighters, gamekeepers, farmers, estate workers, foresters and all the volunteers who have been relentlessly fighting the significant recent wildfires around Moray and the Highlands; commends the significant resources deployed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, which was complemented by local volunteers on the ground, who used their own specialist equipment and expertise to assist the efforts to bring the fires under control; welcomes that there was no loss of human life and that the firefighting efforts prevented the blaze from spreading to local homes and businesses, but acknowledges the destruction of land and animal habitats; reiterates the message for people to take extreme care while out enjoying the countryside and to avoid lighting camp fires or barbeques, and expresses its thanks to the men and women who valiantly fought to bring these wildfires under control.
