Congratulating Local School Crossing Patrol, Shirley Jamieson, on Receiving Honour

That the Parliament congratulates Shirley Jamieson on being awarded the British Empire Medal in The King's Birthday Honours List 2025; understands that Shirley has served the community of Juniper Green in the Edinburgh Pentlands constituency for 20 years as the school crossing patrol; notes that Shirley is held in high esteem among the local community for her kind and caring nature, ensuring that children are safely escorted across the busy Lanark Road and assisting elderly residents to cross the street; acknowledges Shirley’s engagement with the children and their stories of the school day, as well as her caring attitude; believes that Shirley has been an asset to the local community, and thanks her for her decades of service.
