That the Parliament welcomes news that two Orcadians, Moira Sinclair and Sue Foard, have been recognised in The King’s Birthday Honours List 2025; understands that Moira has been awarded a British Empire Medal for her service to NHS Orkney throughout a career spanning more than 40 years; recognises that, as the clinical nurse manager for acute services and senior charge nurse for the emergency department at the Balfour Hospital, Moira has had a profound impact on the delivery of safe and compassionate care for patients; notes that Moira is due to retire from her position as clinical nurse manager this year, and believes that this award is a fitting tribute to the tireless work that she has invested over the years, and the improvements that she has brought for both patients and staff at NHS Orkney; understands that Sue has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her work as a procurator fiscal for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, and services to the administration of justice and to the community in Orkney; considers that Sue’s hard work over many years has been vital in ensuring that justice is upheld fairly and equitably across Orkney; acknowledges what it sees as the integral role that the procurator fiscal plays in maintaining public trust in the legal and justice systems throughout Orkney; believes that the award of an MBE reflects the exceptional level of professionalism and dedication to this role that Sue has demonstrated over the years; thanks both Moira and Sue for their commitment to serving the local community in Orkney, and congratulates them both on the receipt of these richly deserved honours.
