That the Parliament congratulates Redhall Walled Gardens, run by Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), on its 40th anniversary; understands that this long-established community mental health service delivers therapeutic horticultural activities and employability support to those affected by moderate to severe mental health problems in Edinburgh; further understands that SAMH has developed an incredibly special community, offering a safe and welcoming space for people to come and be themselves; commends what it sees as this ground-breaking service for supporting its trainees to improve their mental health, spend time in nature, become more physically active, develop new skills, and build social connections and confidence; considers that the garden is renowned city-wide for its unique community environment and stigma-breaking impact, and wishes all staff and trainees involved at SAMH’s Redhall Walled Garden all the best with the service’s continued running, in light of what it understands are threats to its funding.
