That the Parliament congratulates Hibernian Women’s Football Club on its historic 1-0 victory over Rangers at Ibrox, securing the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) title for the first time since 2007; commends what it sees as the remarkable resilience, teamwork, and determination displayed by the group, who triumphed despite having a smaller squad than many of their competitors, showcasing their ability to come together and overcome the challenges faced throughout the season; acknowledges the pivotal contribution of Linzi Taylor, whose second-half strike sealed the title, and the efforts of all players, including key performances from goalkeeper, Noa Schumacher, and captain, Kirsten Reilly, as well as the guidance and leadership of head coach, Grant Scott; further acknowledges the ongoing growth of women’s football in Scotland, and believes that this victory serves as an inspiration to women and girls in Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, and across the country, motivating them to pursue their dreams in sport and contributing to the continuing development of the women’s game at all levels.
