Scots Selected for Upcoming British and Irish Lions Rugby Tour in Australia

That the Parliament congratulates the eight Scottish Rugby players selected for the British and Irish Lions squad for its upcoming tour of Australia, namely Scott Cummings, Zander Fagerson, Pierre Shoeman, Huw Jones, Blair Kinghorn, Finn Russell, Sione Tuipulotu and Duhan Van der Merwe; acknowledges the honour of being selected for such a prestigious touring squad and the individual achievement of representing Scotland on this stage; values what it sees as the promotion of Scottish Rugby excellence worldwide through the players selected for the Lions squad; commends the effort and dedication of the eight selected Scotland players in order to achieve this selection; believes that the players' recent positive contributions to both their domestic clubs and the Scottish national team have enabled these selections; further believes that the Scotland players will play a pivotal role in the overall success of the Lions team both on and off field, and wishes the British and Irish Lions the best of luck in their tour of Australia
