That the Parliament commends Scottish Autism’s Orkney service for its work in organising a Family Fun Day for the whole community, which was held at the Pickaquoy Centre in Kirkwall on 21 September 2024; celebrates the great success of the activity-packed community event, which was enjoyed by children and parents alike; recognises the contribution of Orkney’s emergency services, including Zoe, the Orkney Drugs Dog, and the police and fire and rescue services in facilitating a range of activities for children and families to engage with, and applauds Scottish Autism’s continued exemplary work in Orkney to enrich the lives of, and support, those diagnosed with autism in this and other rural communities, despite, it understands, the staffing shortages faced by the charity and many other health and social care organisations.
