Babcock Rosyth's Festival of Engineering

  • Submitted by: Annabelle Ewing, Cowdenbeath, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 06 June 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13520

That the Parliament recognises the two-day Festival of Engineering recently held by Babcock International Group at the facility at Rosyth Dockyard for engineers in the making; further recognises that more than 300 local primary school children attended the festival to explore the kinds of skills that they will need for a career in science, technology, engineering or mathematics; understands that the festival showcased past innovations and modern-day developments under the theme of "Celebrating Scottish Engineering Excellence"; notes that the festival encouraged its young guests to explore the hi-tech world of engineering, robotics, advanced manufacturing and virtual reality; thanks Babcock for hosting the event, and wishes the primary pupils all the very best in their future endeavours.
