That the Parliament congratulates Irvine’s Bakers on winning the top-placed diamond award at the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards in the football pie category; understands that Irvine’s steak pie, which is offered at Beith Juniors matches, was honoured at a ceremony on 16 January 2024 at the Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld; notes that Irvine’s, which has three stores in Beith, Kilbirnie and Dalry, was also named the second runner-up in the World Champion Scotch Pie award; recognises that Scottish Bakers, the association that supports the interests of Scotland’s bakery trade, organises the annual competition to shine a light on the craft skills pie makers demonstrate day in and day out when lovingly making pies from scratch from locally sourced ingredients; understands that owner and managing director, Maurice Irvine, described the triumph as a “dream come true” and said that the win not only means a lot to the business, but also to the people of Beith, who know that they have award-winning products right on their doorstep, and wishes Mr Irvine, and everyone at his bakery, all the best with their future endeavours.
