That the Parliament congratulates the team at the Dumfries Ice Bowl, the ice facility of Dumfries and Galloway Council, on the announcement that it is to host the Scottish Curling men’s and women’s championships from 4 to 10 February 2024; understands that curlers from across the country will be competing, including a number of Dumfries and Galloway teams, namely Team Leigh, Team Munro, Team Henderson, Team O Carson, Team R Craik, Team Whyte, Team Mouat, and Team Morrison; further understands that participating teams are eligible for selection as Scotland's representatives at the World Curling Championships; thanks the many sponsors and partners who provide support for the Royal Caledonian Curling Club (RCCC), established in 1838 as the national governing body for the sport of curling in Scotland; notes that the RCCC has approximately 10,000 members in around 550 clubs, and is one of the largest governing bodies of sport in Scotland; recognises the many national and international sporting achievements of Scotland’s curlers; wishes all of Scotland’s curlers a successful year of sport in 2024, and thanks the team at the Dumfries Ice Bowl for its efforts in securing the Scottish Curling men’s and women’s championships, and for other significant cultural events that have been held at the Dumfries Ice Bowl, including the World Curling Championships.
