That the Parliament congratulates wife and husband, Linda and Dennis Williams, and daughter, Sophie, who run the Broadway Premier in Oxgangs Edinburgh, on being awarded the Raj Aggarwal Trophy by the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS); notes that the award was revealed during ACS’ Heart of the Community Conference on 17 October 2023; understands that the trophy, which marks the legacy of the late independent retailer and community champion, Raj Aggarwal, is awarded to retailers who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community retailing over the last year, supporting their colleagues, customers, and fellow retailers; further understands that the members of the Williams Family were recognised for demonstrating exceptional community retailing in Oxgangs, Edinburgh, for over 40 years and for going above and beyond to make their store a community hub, and agrees with ACS chief executive, James Lowman, who said, “Congratulations to the Williams Family who are deserved winners of this award, which highlights the very best of community retailing".
