That the Parliament congratulates the Berwickshire Swap for implementing a swapping scheme that enables families to exchange clothes, toys, and children’s essentials in an attempt to combat child poverty in Scotland, particularly during the current cost of living crisis; understands that the small registered charity, which was established in 2020 in Reston, Scottish Borders, has recently provided clothing to over 93 children, with a third of them being a returning participant; further understands that the Berwickshire Swap works closely with health visitors, social workers, schools and the third sector to provide a much-needed service to families affected by financial hardship, while also helping to combat social isolation and loneliness; believes that this sustainable work will also aid in reducing clothing landfill, which is thought to total 300,000 tons every year; congratulates Berwickshire Swap for this work, and wishes everyone involved well with their plans to expand the charity's reach across the Scottish Borders.
