That the Parliament congratulates Helensburgh tennis sensation, Gordon Reid, who, along with his partner, Alfie Hewett, won his fifth Wimbledon doubles title at the All England Lawn Tennis Club on 15 July 2023; notes that the duo marked their 18th Grand Slam wheelchair doubles title together with the victory over Japan’s Tokito Oda and Takuya Miki having been a set down in the final; acknowledges that Reid is originally from Helensburgh and first played at Wimbledon in 2008; recognises that he won his most recent title in front of a near-capacity crowd on Court Number One, and notes that Reid also made it to the semi-final of the singles tournament at Wimbledon.
