That the Parliament recognises that the Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter published its final print edition on 9 May 2023; thanks the staff at the newspaper for keeping the local communities across Dumbarton, the Vale of Leven, Balloch, Cardross and Old Kilpatrick up to date with current affairs since 1964; acknowledges that it will continue to provide local news through its website; thanks the staff for their efforts to provide vital information to residents within its circulation area throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, and notes what it sees as the importance that local newspapers have to play within communities in holding authorities to account and bringing important matters to the public’s attention.
