Passing of Pat Greenhough

  • Submitted by: David Torrance, Kirkcaldy, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 26 January 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07657

That the Parliament offers its condolences after the tragic passing of Pat Greenhough; understands that Pat was a long-standing member of Fife’s LGBT+ and equalities community; further understands that Pat was an operational officer with Fife Centre for Equalities and that, as convener of Fife Pride, was a key figure who contributed to the success of the annual celebration; notes that her work on Fife Pride earned her recognition when she was honoured at the 2016 Fife Rainbow Awards for her contribution to the LGBT+ communities around the Kingdom of Fife; acknowledges that, before dedicating herself to LGBT+ issues, Pat was involved with helping the homeless in Perth, as well as being north regional manager with the Scottish Drugs Forum; recognises that she has been described as a warm, caring and loving person whose legacy will live on in the volunteers and colleagues with whom she worked and the countless organisations who benefitted from her advice and support over many years, and expresses its deepest sympathies to Pat’s friends and family during this difficult time.
