Glasgow Airport’s Largest Ever Jobs Fair

That the Parliament commends Glasgow Airport for hosting its largest ever jobs fair, which took place on 19 January 2023; understands that over 1,500 jobseekers attended the event, including refugees from the war in Ukraine, and some of those who are facing redundancy due to the expected closure of Amazon's depot in Gourock; notes that 35 businesses took part, and that these included air traffic control service providers, NATS, ground handling service providers, Swissport International and Menzies Aviation, security company, ICTS, facilities management company, ABM, and catering companies, The Restaurant Group and Select Service Partners; further notes that Scottish regional airline, Loganair, was in attendance, along with many other businesses from the travel sector; understands that full-time, part-time and seasonal vacancies were available; notes the attendance of UK Government agency, Jobcentre Plus, and Invest in Renfrewshire, which is an economic development partnership between local employers and Renfrewshire Council; further notes that translators were on hand to assist Polish, Romanian and Ukrainian speakers seeking employment; praises Glasgow Airport and the businesses that made the jobs fair a success, and wishes all potential employees the best of luck in their new careers.
