That the Parliament congratulates Alex James Colquhoun after being elected as the Vice President of the European Showman’s Union; understands that Alex James was elected to the position of vice president after what it sees as his tireless efforts in assisting and working to improve the lives of showpeople in Scotland with fundamental issues, most recently through the provision of funding during the COVID-19 pandemic; further understands that Alex James is also the current chairman of the Scottish Section of The Showman’s Guild and that he brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role; believes that Alex James has been instrumental in the return, since the pandemic, of Burntisland’s Summer Fair and Kirkcaldy’s Links Market, which was established in 1304 and is Europe's longest street fair as well as the oldest in Scotland; notes that Alex James is a member of the Cross-Party Group in the Scottish Parliament on the Scottish Showmen’s Guild, which highlights what it sees as the importance of Scottish showmen as a contributing group to communities across Scotland; commends Alex James for his dedication to showpeople, and wishes him all the best for the future.
