Renfrew Residents in HM The King’s New Year’s Honours

That the Parliament congratulates residents of Renfrewshire who have been recognised in The King’s New Year Honours; notes that this includes Puneet Gupta, the co-founder and chief executive officer of PG Paper, who was made an OBE for services to business, charity and the Scottish community; congratulates Ian Reid, who was appointed a CBE for services to sport, for his role as chief executive officer of the organising committee of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham; understands that Mr Reid previously served as chief financial officer for the organising committee when the Games were held in Glasgow in 2014; celebrates the contribution of William Smith who was appointed an MBE for services to the community; acknowledges that Mr Smith is chairman and founder of Hillwood Football Club, which is based in the Pollok area of Glasgow; understands that the club has a long history in supporting grassroots participation and the local community, and recognises the outstanding and inspirational contributions of these individuals and all those who were recognised in The King’s New Year Honours.
