That the Parliament congratulates the Longhope Lifeboat Guild on raising an incredible £2,885.64 in the 2022 Lifeboat Bazaar for RNLI Longhope; notes that the Lifeboat Bazaar took place on 11 November 2022 in the YM Hall and was opened by new trainee Coxswain, Scott Johnston; understands that the annual Lifeboat Bazaar has become a key date in the calendar for locals and visitors alike, as well as members of the neighbouring island community in Flotta; further understands that the event involves an extremely well stocked raffle, fine teas and cakes and the traditional early visit from Santa; commends the support of local businesses, including Highland Park, Orkney Cheese James Wilsons Ltd, William Shearers, The Longship, NOV Flotta, Cooke Aquaculture, JMF Groat, Bob Simpson, Sodexto Flotta, The Orcadian Bookshop, Toumal Art Studio and Aurora Jewellery, who, it understands, all made generous donations towards the auction; thanks Guild members who volunteered their time to make the 2022 bazaar another hugely successful and enjoyable occasion; believes that the great fundraising effort highlights the importance of the lifeboat to the Longhope community and the esteem in which it is held, and pays tribute to the dedicated Longhope lifeboat crew, who demonstrate selfless bravery all year round in keeping those at sea safe.
