Recognising the GMB Scotland Trade Union at Moorpark Place, Kilbirnie
- Submitted by: Kenneth Gibson, Cunninghame North, Scottish National Party.
- Date lodged: Thursday, 07 July 2022
- Motion reference: S6M-05304
That the Parliament condemns the reported decision by Active Care Group to end the recognition agreement with GMB Scotland trade union at Moorpark Place on 30 June 2022; understands that the Active Care Group has failed to effectively engage with its workers or representatives from the GMB Scotland on derecognition, which it considers will side-line the interests and experiences of social care staff who cared for the most vulnerable throughout the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to do so, and calls on the Active Care Group to enter into talks with GMB Scotland to reach a new recognition agreement so that social care staff and others can have their interests effectively represented in the workplace and their terms and conditions protected.
