Donald Manford's Retirement

That the Parliament congratulates former Comhairle nan Eilean Siar councillor, Donald Manford, on his retirement; understands that Donald was first elected to represent the Barra and Vatersay ward in the 1999 local elections, and latterly the Barraigh, Bhatarsaigh, Eirisgeigh agus Uibhist a Deas ward until May 2022; recognises that Donald had served as Chair of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Transportation committee and as leader of the SNP group on the council; notes his reputation as a popular councillor, and a passionate advocate for, and a fierce defender of, his own community; acknowledges the considerable contribution that he has made to political life in the Western Isles, and wishes him the best for a long and happy retirement.
