That the Parliament applauds a centenary of sport at Fort Matilda in Greenock; understands that Scottish Rugby helped mark the occasion with the world famous Calcutta Cup paying Greenock Wanderers Rugby Football Club a visit as part of its tour, which saw the cup reach over 1,000 players and supporters from the grassroots game at local rugby events; further understands that to celebrate 100 years since the founding of Fort Matilda Playing Fields Union, Greenock Wanderers, Fort Matilda Tennis Club and Fort Matilda Bowling Club held a reception and lunch in the Wanderers’ clubhouse prior to the three outfits hosting their own matches; commends all three clubs on reaching this milestone, and hopes that sport continues to thrive at Fort Matilda.
