That the Parliament thanks Bernadette Barr, from Port Glasgow, for using her baking talents to raise more than £80,000 for Mary’s Meals; understands that Bernadette has baked and sold almost 6,000 cakes at her regular "Baked With Love" afternoon tea events over the last decade, and specialises in whipped cream puffs, ginger cakes, old-school cakes and rocky road, all from her kitchen in Port Glasgow; recognises that Bernadette’s latest afternoon tea took place at the Little Sisters of the Poor complex, on 23 April 2022, which raised more than £3,000, and understands that the very next day she took part in Glasgow’s Kiltwalk for Mary’s Meals; understands that Bernadette’s generosity is inspired by her mother, who fundraised to help children living in the world’s poorest countries, and that this is why Bernadette decided to raise funds for Mary’s Meals as it serves nutritious school meals in 20 of the world’s poorest countries, many of which are impacted by conflict and natural disasters; applauds Bernadette for her commitment to charity, and wishes her well as she continues to bake and fundraise for the international aid charity.
