Scottish Parliament Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Committee Wednesday 15 May 2002 (Morning)

[The Convener opened the meeting at 10:00]

Good morning and welcome to the 16th meeting in 2002 of the Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Committee. I have received apologies from Annabel Goldie, who unfortunately broke a bone in her foot last Thursday.

Not her metatarsal bone, I hope.

Apparently, a Conservative member complained to her that David Beckham was all over the front pages of the paper.

And now he is all over her.

I hope that that is not in the Official Report.

Anyway, Annabel thought that breaking her foot would be a good way to attract attention.

I am sure that she will appreciate those comments, David.

She fell down some stairs.

I have also received apologies from Adam Ingram and from Gordon Jackson, who will join us in about an hour.
