Items in Private

The Convener (Bristow Muldoon):

I call to order the ninth meeting in 2005 of the Local Government and Transport Committee. Apologies have been received from Michael McMahon MSP. Before we welcome the witnesses who are here for our main evidence session today, we will deal with item 1, which concerns items in private. I propose to take items 3 and 4 in private. Under item 3, we are to consider the merits of potential witnesses and, under item 4, the names and identities of potential committee advisers. Are we agreed?

I do not object to item 4 being held in private, but I object to our dealing with item 3 in that way.

With Tommy Sheridan's opposition to holding item 3 in private being recorded, is it agreed that we hold the two items in private?

Members indicated agreement.
