Interests

Good morning and welcome to the 16th meeting in 2008 of the European and External Relations Committee. I am temporarily taking the chair this morning because Malcolm Chisholm has demitted office and left the committee to go to pastures new. I place on record our gratitude to him for his work as convener of the committee.

We have received apologies from Patricia Ferguson. I am sure that the committee will join me in wishing her all the best. We hope that she is back with us soon.

Item 1 is a declaration of interests. I welcome to the committee Charlie Gordon, who is replacing Malcolm Chisholm, and invite him to declare any interests.

Thank you. The only interest that I have to declare is that I am a member of the GMB union.
