Committee Remit

The final item is the proposed change to the committee remit. The clerk has set out three options, which can be put to the Executive and the Procedures Committee. Two proposals come from the Executive and one is from the committee.

I suggest that we follow option C, convener.

I agree.

Option C is that the Subordinate Legislation Committee should consider and report on

"whether any proposed delegated powers in particular Bills or other legislation should be expressed as a power to make subordinate legislation".

That appears to be clearer and more succinct than the Executive's proposals. However, the legal effect is the same.
