Objection (Preliminary Consideration)

Agenda item 2 is preliminary consideration of the objection. The committee is required to give preliminary consideration to the objection and to consider its approach to how the objection might be dealt with at the preliminary stage. I invite members' views. Do members agree that the objection should be allowed to proceed to substantive scrutiny at the consideration stage?

Yes, I think that it would be unreasonable of us not to allow that.

Given the fact that we have considered other objections that have come in late, the fact that the objection has resulted from a takeover and the fact that it is not many days late, it would be churlish of us to turn it down.
