Decisions on Taking Business in Private

The Convener (Bruce Crawford)

Good morning, colleagues. I should say first that apologies have been received from James Kelly, but I am glad to see that Richard Baker is attending in his place. No other apologies have been received, and everyone else is present.

Item 1 has been slightly amended; members should have an updated version of the agenda. The committee is being asked to make three decisions on taking business in private. This is normal practice.

I thought that we had agreed at the previous meeting that we would take today’s proceedings in private, but apparently we did not record that properly. I therefore ask colleagues to accept to go into private for the purpose of considering the draft stage 1 report on the Scottish Independence Referendum (Franchise) Bill. Do members agree to do that?

Members indicated agreement.

The second decision is whether to take in private our consideration of the key themes for oral evidence taking on the Scottish Independence Referendum Bill, in the same way as we did for the key themes of the franchise bill. Do members agree to do that?

Members indicated agreement.

The third and last decision is whether to take in private at future meetings—as we are doing for the franchise bill—consideration of the stage 1 draft report on the referendum bill. Do members agree to do that?

Members indicated agreement.

That ends the public part of the meeting.

10:01 Meeting continued in private until 11:36.
