Deputy Convener

Item 3 on the agenda is the choice of a deputy convener. Members have before them a note from the clerks that sets out the procedure for selecting a deputy convener. It is similar to the procedure that was used to select me as convener. The Parliament has agreed that only members of the Scottish Liberal Democrats are eligible to be chosen as deputy convener of the Health and Sport Committee. I invite nominations for the position.

I nominate Ross Finnie.

Congratulations, Ross. I hope that the fact that you have chosen not to sit next to me does not augur anything.
