Deputy Convener

I thank John Farquhar Munro for convening the meeting.

The next item on the agenda is the election of a deputy convener. On a motion of the Parliamentary Bureau, it has been decided that that post will be held by a member of the Labour party. I invite a nomination for deputy convener.

I nominate Gordon Jackson.

There are no other nominations so, if we are all agreed, I am delighted to declare that Gordon Jackson has been duly chosen as deputy convener of the committee.
