Tribunals (Scotland) Bill: After Stage 1

Agenda item 3 is consideration of the correspondence that we have received from the Scottish Government in relation to the Tribunals (Scotland) Bill.

On considering the Scottish Government’s response to the committee’s stage 1 report on the bill at its meeting on 29 October, the committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government to seek clarification on section 56(2) of the bill, which relates to the venue for tribunal hearings. Members have seen the briefing paper and the response from the Scottish Government.

Unless amendments that will substantially affect the delegated powers provisions are made to the bill at stage 2, the committee will not consider the bill again.

Do members have any comments? Are we content with the response that we have received from the Scottish Government?
